Book Description: As a member of the Field County Sheriff’s Department, Chris Jennings is used to having it rough. The Colorado Rockies aren’t for the weak-of-spirit, but he’s devoted his life to upholding the law―and to protecting the one woman he knows he can never have. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
Daisy Little has lived in agoraphobic terror for over eight years. Trapped within a prison of her own making, she watches time pass through her bedroom window. Daisy knows she’ll never be a part of the world…until the day she becomes the sole witness of a terrible crime that may finally tear the Search & Rescue brotherhood apart for good.
Captivation: This book was okay. It was the least favorite of mine in the series. I was interested enough to finish the book, but mostly just to find out how it ends.
Sizzle: There were a few tingling moments, and some good lead-ins, but it felt like it was taking too long.
Romance: This is the part that bugged me about this book most. The characters were supposed to be best friends, but had a profound lack of communication. It felt as though they should have known each other better, or at least well enough to see their couple potential much quicker.
Enjoyment: There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed, but most of those involved the full series cast, not the main characters.
Literacy: Still no complaints, other than the layout and progression.
Overall, this is on my read again shelf, but solely as a skip through reminder of how the series ends.
