Book Description: For her eighteenth birthday, Alice Bonham takes a vacation to Australia only to have her trip cut short by an unexpected murder. While Alice tries to understand what happened, she regrets some of the choices she’s made, especially the more permanent ones.
On top of that, the child vampire is running loose, and it’s attracting some very unwanted attention.
Captivation: I knew I had to read this book, to see what happens next in the series… Still love this series! Still keeps me wanting to read more.
Enjoyment: There were a few times where I wanted to skip ahead in this book, but mostly because I want to know how it ends – who did this, how did that happen… Still a fantastic read.
Imagination: The world and detail continued to feel realistic enough to relate to, but steeped in fantasy. I really enjoy Hocking’s imagination and how she brings fantasy into reality.
Unique: This one was really completely Ms. Hocking’s. I love the interpretation she pulls in from common vampire stories.
Literacy: I did see more grammar and word errors in this book than the others before it. Again, I have to point out, though, that I have one of the first versions and it has likely been updated since.
Overall, I liked this book a lot. This book continues to be on my read again book shelf, along with the series.
