Book Description: Separated from her son and forced to create a neural implant that will mean the effective enslavement of her psychically gifted race, Ashaya Aleine is the perfect Psy–cool, calm, emotionless…at least on the surface. Inside, she’s fighting a desperate battle to save her son and escape the vicious cold of the PsyNet. Yet when escape comes, it leads not to safety, but to the lethal danger of a sniper’s embrace.

DarkRiver sniper Dorian Christensen lost his sister to a Psy killer. Though he lacks the changeling ability to shift into animal form, his leopard lives within. And that leopard’s rage at the brutal loss is a clawing darkness that hungers for vengeance. Falling for a Psy has never been on Dorian’s agenda. But charged with protecting Ashaya and her son, he discovers that passion has a way of changing the rules…

Captivation:  This book captured me from the start and just kept me going.  Multiple plots, complications, and budding relationships… what more could a girl ask for?

Sizzle: There’s some seriously messed up tension in this book due to who the main characters are, but when the sizzle starts, it causes some great feelings in the reader.

Romance: The relationship building in this book is fantastically written from both character points of view.  There were a few slower moments that bordered on boring, but they were important to the plot.

Enjoyment: I love this book!  The series plot thickens, the book plot is fantastic, and the relationship building for the main and supporting characters is… awesome-to the true definition of the word… awe…some!

Literacy:   This book was better edited than the prior few.  Moving the literacy factor back to what one normally tends to see with professionally published books.

Overall, this is book 5 in the series… if I put the books in order of favor so far, this would be my #2 favorite.  But wait!  Many more to come!  This one is, along with the others of the series, on my never-ending read again bookshelf.
