Book Description:  Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil…

A vampire has attacked a girls’ school—the assault one of sheer, vicious madness—and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders.

The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear.

An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed…

Captivation:  This book delves into the discovering the mysterious series plots to come, capturing and holding attention from start to finish.

Sizzle:  There are some great seduction and intimacy scenes in this book, though the story is more about the changes to come and the mystery around them.

Romance: This book develops more of Raphael and Elena’s story, but is more focused on their strengths and relationships with those around them than it is solely the relationship with each other.

Enjoyment: There is more mystery and suspense to this book, carrying the reader into the series plots as a whole.

Literacy:   Nothing alarming or distracting as far as grammatical errors, pretty standard editing errors.

Overall, this a good book that ties together the story of Raphael and Elena with the books to come as the series develops.
